Single Malt Whisky

Ecosse - Speyside

Aberlour A'bunadh Alba is the heir of A'bunadh whisky: from the Gaelic word for "origin", in homage to the founder of Aberlour, James Fleming.
It is a Single Malt "brut de fût", bottled at cask strength, that is to say without adding water. Its production method recalls the powerful taste of the old malts, very faithful to the classic profile of Speyside whiskies.

Alba refers to Quercus Alba, the type of American white oak used to mature A'Bunadh Alba.
Coincidentally, Alba is also the name of Scotland in Scottish Gaelic. The English name refers to the light color of the bark of some species.
Primarily found in eastern North America, white oaks grow much faster than most European oak species and can live for hundreds of years.
The durability of American white oak wood, as well as its ability to retain water and oxygen, make it suitable for bourbon barrels. American oak is denser and harder than French oak, making the barrels less prone to leakage.
