Chili - Maipo
Viña Tarapacá was founded in 1874 in an exceptional setting near the Cordillera, at the foot of a volcano surrounded by mountains and the Rio Maipo river, about 50 km south of Santiago.
The grapes for Tarapacá Late Harvest come from selected plots of Sauvignon Blanc and Riesling in their own vineyard on Isla de Maipo. They are harvested at the end of May, by hand, while they are overripe.
Grape varieties:
49% sauvignon blanc, 39% riesling, 11% gewürztraminer and 1% viognier
Tasting notes:
The colour is quite clear and bright, slightly golden. The nose is complex with aromas of yellow fruits (pear, banana, pineapple), exotic fruits (mango, lychee), flowers, with a subtle touch of honey. On the palate, the wine is delicate, long, round without being syrupy, with a well-balanced acidity and a concentrated and very tasty finish.

Pan-fried foie gras on gingerbread, mango chutney with green chilli. Carpaccio of scallops with citrus fruit.
