Stemming from an astonishing history, the estate was founded by Dan Odfjell, a Norwegian whose profession owned ships. "Orzada" is a nautical term which designates the fact of sailing against the wind before taking a direction. This cuvée is made from old Carignan vines between 60 and 100 years old and produced entirely in biodynamics. In order to promote the aromatic expression of the grape variety as much as possible, the vinification took place using indigenous yeasts naturally present on the berries and the wine did not undergo any filtration during bottling.

Tasting Notes:
The color is very dark garnet, but still translucent. The nose is a hymn to blackcurrant in all its forms (leaf, bud, berry, jelly, cream), lightly toasted spices in the background and a hint of mint. The mouth is slender, fresh, with a ripe substance of impressive density but with a velvety touch, without harshness. The finish is powerful, chewy, with assertive (but civilized) tannins, always with omnipresent blackcurrant and noble aging notes.

Pot of wild rabbit with black olives. Magret du Lot and redcurrant chutney, mashed potatoes and old-fashioned mustard.
