Monte Dall’Ora, in the heart of the Valpolicella appellation, was born from a dream: to interpret nature without forcing it. Carlo Venturini and his wife Alessandra Zantedeschi both come from winemaking families and created this property in 1995. The microclimate of Valpolicella is unique. Cold air from the mountains of Trentino Alto Adige collides with warm air from Lake Garda just to the east. The resulting temperate climate allows olive, cherry and citrus trees to thrive side by side, an unusual combination in the far north and inland in Italy. The humidity is high, so Monte Dall’Ora's choice to work organically and biodynamically is quite rare in this productive farming area.
The label features five burgundy handprints, those of Carlo Venturini, Alessandra Zantedeschi and their three children.
Grape varieties:
50% corvina, 20% corvinone, 20% rondinella, 10% molinara and oseleta.
Tasting Notes:
Valpolicella Saseti is fermented in stainless steel vats with native yeasts and is unfiltered and unrefined. Ruby red color with purplish reflections and scents of red fruits such as cherries and juicy plums with a hint of bitterness. On the palate, the fruit is winey, with notes of cut grass. The minerality of the estate's limestone soil is evident in this wine and the finish is tasty and fresh.
