Nat 'Cool' is naturally 'cool and funky'. It represents an innovative concept launched by Niepoort, where various producers have united to create light and easy to drink wines. In the Bairrada region, Drink Me, the first Nat 'Cool', was vinified in an attempt to bring out a different and elegant side of the baga grape.

Tasting Notes:
This wine offers a clear color and a frank and expressive aromatic profile, full of freshness and floral notes. The characteristics of the baga grape variety and the Bairrada region are very evident here, with lovely notes of strawberries, dried roses and some spices. Its mineral aromas are reminiscent of limestone soils and the marked Atlantic climate. Fresh, direct and very seductive, this wine does not weigh on the palate and is drunk very easily, inviting us to have another glass.

An emblematic domain of the Douro! Winemaker Dirk van der Niepoort is the fifth generation in charge of the estate, founded over 170 years ago. It embodies the perfect synthesis between tradition and originality covered with success.
The result: The maverick of the wine scene presents impressive Portuguese wines, whether they are white, red or rosé. In the past, when we spoke of the Niepoort estate, we mainly thought of the Port wine produced here since always. Certainly, Niepoort is one of the smallest Port wine producing properties, but undoubtedly one of the best. There is hardly any other winegrower in the Douro region who has for many years offered such a comprehensive and diverse range of wines of all qualities.
Dirk Niepoort has taken his old family business to a level of quality and notoriety never achieved before. The American magazine Wine Spectator even compared the role played by Niepoort to that of the house of Krug for Champagne: small but refined, of a quality that very few producers have been able to achieve.
The wines of this house are at the top of Portuguese production. True wines for aging, they are dense with real fruit maturity while retaining elegant tannins. In the shadow of the big English firms, this small house has always produced great wines.
