A selection of 11 parcels located on schist, clay-limestone, sandy and stony soils.
This cuvée plays the card of finesse rather than power. Elegant and supple, with a fresh and distinguished aromatic palette, not very concentrated but with good length, these wines can be drunk quite young and give their full measure at the table where their elegance is a marvel.
Grape varieties :
95% Syrah and 5% Viognier
The wine is aged for 22 months in barrels, 25% of which are new. The vinification is gentle and parcel-based. The blend of Syrah and Viognier gives the wine suppleness and character with lots of fruit.
Tasting notes:
The colour is inky, deep. The wine has complex aromas of ripe red fruit with spicy notes, asphalt and black olives. The palate is fine, elegant and structured, a silky texture, beautiful aromatic concentration on a floral register, good chewiness.

The other vintages of:
Patrick Jasmin chooses finesse and distinction in his irresistible Côte-Rôtie. Respect for the terroir, traditions and fruit are at the heart of the work carried out with abnegation and courage by this artisan winemaker who represents the 4th generation of winemakers.
On these steep slopes with steep terraces, all the work is carried out by hand and by the sweat of the brow, without mechanisation. A massal selection of old Syrah vines flourishes on 6 hectares of vines, spread over 11 different plots. These old massales offer smaller berries, very balanced and complex. A hint of Viognier is mixed in with the other grape varieties and brings elegant floral notes to the wines.
Gentle and parcel-based vinification as well as long and delicate maturing give birth to a Côte-Rôtie "La Giroflarie" cuvée endowed with great delicacy and subtlety. The maturing process is long (about 24 months) and very delicate.
This wine enchants the palate in its early years with a fresh and spontaneous pleasure, then gains in complexity and breed over time.
Since 2015, Patrick jasmin has also produced a very confidential cuvée, "Oléa". He has chosen to isolate the best barrels of his classic Côte-Rôtie to bottle the cream of his production. An additional concentration and fleshiness emanates from this nectar which regales with its velvety sap of black fruits and spices.
These Côtes-Rôties are decidedly different, and must be discovered.
