Boulevard Napoléon - L'Abeuradou 2018
Languedoc
Named after the old name of a street in the village of La Livinière, Minervois: Boulevard Napoléon is the partnership between restaurateur Trevor Gulliver, Chef Fergus Henderon and winemaker Benjamin Darnault.
Grape varieties:
100% cinsault
Tasting Notes:
Translucent cardinal red color with carmine reflections. Delicious and juicy, this is a less full-bodied cinsault than others with lots of red fruit (some cinsaults have darker fruit flavors). This vintage is quite similar to a Gamay; you can easily put it in the fridge. Underneath the juicy fruit are attractive aromas of blue fruit and black pepper.
Wine style:
Complex and elegant red wine.
Food and wine :
Crispy orange pork tenderloin. Fine garrigue snail tart with parsley.
Aging potential in your cellar:
8 years
Analytic :
75 cl - 14.5% volume
Contains sulfites

Who is the eclectic winemaker Jeff Carrel?
Jeff Carrel, born in Paris in 1969, studied chemistry before changing his life and studying oenology in Montpellier. The young graduate takes a tour of France; he will vinify in the Loire, in Alsace, in the Languedoc for a consulting lab which follows the Grange des Pères, Mas Daumas Gassac etc ... Jeff will also vinify for Mondavi in the Languedoc.
In 1998, he launched his consulting company, taking over management of certain areas such as Puydeval. And since then, Jeff, who cannot keep still, advises mainly in Languedoc-Roussillon but also in Priorat, Bordeaux, Beaujolais and Burgundy. Man is unstoppable.
Those who know the wines of Jeff Carrel know that it tastes, and that is the main thing.
Jeff works mainly in Languedoc Roussillon but also in Bordeaux, Beaujolais and Burgundy. He develops ranges of wines that are all original, with a unique label and at an affordable price: simple wines but not simplistic. Wines with their own universe and their own history. Make, from the vine to the bottle, wines with a strong identity, with societal and environmental values, technical precision and personality. And if these wines exist, it is because they reflect a human history, made up of encounters, cultures, grape varieties, climates, and their only claim is to be sincere.
