Valle de la Orotava DO
Espagne - Iles Canarie (Tenerife)
This wine is made from old vines of more than 100 years for the white listan and the pedro ximenez and 15 years for the vidueño.

The other vintages of:
Francisco Javier García Núñez and his sons Jonatan and Francisco, who come from a family with a long tradition of winemaking, created Suertes de Marqués in 2006, while maintaining the agricultural tradition of the region. With this in mind, they began to make wines that focus on quality and are produced exclusively from indigenous Canary Islands grape varieties. In 2008, the oenologist Roberto Santana, who previously worked for the Casa Castillo winery in Jumilla, joined the project.
Located in the medianías (an area between 350 and 700 metres above sea level) of La Orotava (Las Suertes), the winery has a vineyard of 9 hectares. The majority of the vineyard is made up of century-old black and white Listán vines cultivated according to the particular system of multiple cordons; the rest of the vineyard is made up of young and old vines of autochthonous varieties (pedro ximenez, tintilla de rota, baboso negro) cultivated in espalier and cordon trenzado
The property has 21 plots identified according to soil composition, orientation, altitude and temperature. Each plot is analysed, controlled, worked and vinified separately. This process allows each wine to reflect the personality of the soil. The estate interferes as little as possible in the winemaking process and uses open, unlined concrete vats and French oak tuns for fermentation and maturation.
Juicy wine with aromas of fresh red fruits such as redcurrant, very expressive. On the palate, it is very accessible but at the same time complex. A tasty, elegant...
Pure expression of volcanic micro-parcels. Very volcanic, stony and savoury, with very fine tannins and precise flavours. Elegant, velvety and dynamic.
