Del Professore classico is a blend of herbs and spices with a wine from the Moscato delle Langhe appellation. It is a pure olfactory and gustatory jewel.
Its magnificent label, decorated with numerous gold medals, is a work of art in itself.

With Classico traditionale, Del Professore's aim was to recreate the popular style of vermouth as it existed in Italy at the end of the 18th century.
The basic wine, muscatel, is enriched with aromatic and medicinal herbs, harvested in the Alpine heights near Turin, as well as a large number of traditionally used exotic spices (including wormwood, mint, citrus fruits, gentian, vanilla, clove, mace...).

In the text: "Pure Vintage Vermouth, Del Professore, Antica Ricetta, Vecchio Opificio, Il Vermouth di una volta". Exceptional.

Nose: ample, powerful. A touch medicated and liquorice, its fruits are almost liquorish (apricot, sultana). Then, aromatic plants and candied citrus fruits (lemon, orange) rise to the surface. It gradually reveals itself to be rich in exoticism (banana, pineapple).

Palate: voluptuous even in its bitterness. This serves as its backbone. It gains in power to become impressively mature. Its "old" style is stripped of all superfluity. It is nourished by its balance of sweet, salty, bitter and acid. The fruit triumphs with its roasted character.

Finish: long, intense. The quality of its fruitiness continues to be exceptional. Unbelievably deep, the last sugars are released in the manner of an ice wine. Perfect, it shines with its freedom of expression.

The creator of Vermouth del Professore, Leonardo Leuci is a passionate man with great expertise. A globetrotter, he divides his time between cocktails and travelling the world in search of new spirits after having been a bartender in many countries including Cuba, Greece, Turkey, Spain, Venezuela, Mexico and Saint Lucia.


Thanks to a background that also includes experience in sommellerie, Leonardo Leuci has combined his know-how in spirits and wines to create a craft range (vermouth, liqueur, gin...) in collaboration with the Quaglia distillery in Piedmont.
